Kenia
Visa
Khartoum
Are normally available at the border. Applied for in Khartoum because at Lake Turkana where we wanted to enter is no normal border crossing point. Request took an hour including a boring discussion with the consul. Costs SDG 220 per person, pick up next day.
The Hague
After a temporary return to the Netherlands we obtained an East Africa visa in The Hague. This visa is for Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.Applied for in the morning, picked up in the afternoon, costs € 80 per person.
Arrival
Lake Turkana
There is no customs or immigration to Lake Turkana. We just need to sign us in the first village Edoret that took a quarter. The rest had to be handled in Nairobi. Passport stamping is done at Immigration in Nyayo House, left building, room 14 or 18 (1,2871S, 36,8182E). Carnet stamping is done at Customs in Times Tower, court building, first floor through swinging doors, then left (1,2905S, 36,8242E). You can park at the public car park opposite Nyayo House. It went smoothly and without problems, including walking back and forth between the buildings we needed half an hour.
Departure
To Uganda
Hassle free, all stamps were collected in 30 minutes. Car not inspected, no questions about road tax.
Carnet
Kenya needed a carnet. Stamped without viewing the car.

Covered by TourInsure. Was not asked for.
Money
ATMs plentiful, except north of Maralal. ATMs (VISA most widely accepted, sometimes Maestro (Barclays) or MC).

No incidents. Several times stopped by police, mainly out of curiosity.
