Entering Mozambique from South Africa takes 40 min. including the purchase of visas at the border.
Departure
To Zimbabwe
The exit to Zimbabwe takes 5 min. The temporary import for for the car is collected and the passport is stamped.
Carnet
The carnet is not asked for in Mozambique. We get a free temporary import form instead.
Insurance
We used the TourInsure insurance. It was never asked for.
Money
ATMs that accent VISA and mostly also Maestro are widely available and operating. Supermarkets, tourist accomodation and fuel stations usually accept VISA.
Diesel
Widely available. About EUR 1 per liter.
Corruption
No incidents.
Roads
Varying between good tar and many potholes (N1, N6). Secondary roads often gravel of varying quality.
